Birthday Reflection

My birthday has officially been over for 2 hours and 30 minutes and I have just been laying in bed reflecting on my day. I'm truly thankful for the fact that I can say, it has been the best thus far.

It began with my MCIA fambam at practice, singing happy birthday to me at midnight during circle-up. I really hate when big groups of people sing happy birthday to you because it's always so awkward because everyone is staring at you and you're just sitting there not doing anything. For some reason though, this wasn't awkward at all, it was just the same as if my actual family were the ones singing to me.

After practice, I was greeted by my hallmates when I got home. Being able to spend this first portion of my birthday with my Oterians really meant a lot to me since these are the people who have been there with me, figuring out this thing called college, since day one. It's really nice to know that they are still here with me now that the year is coming to an end. :]

I didn't go to class (it was at 9AM), instead I decided to actually sleep in until noon. I really have been needing to catch up on sleep since you know, I have insomnia so I stay up till 3AM every night doing nothing at all and I have morning classes every day, so I thought this would be a great start. Plus, it was my birthday, I shouldn't have to go to class anyways.

After I woke up, I went to lunch with a couple of people (kristine, lena, jeannie, and aimee) at brandywine just because. After that though, we went to visit Elaine Kao at work (and Skanky happened to be there too), and they surprised me with a giant ass green poster that they made and signed for me, which I really appreciate...a lot! :]

Next step was...Disneyland with my wifey Lena. Of course, we got lost because that's what we do. haha. But we were able to create lots of new memories and we ended up finding our way like we always do. I was able to get my "fun" card, which the guy at the ticket boothe got all crazy with me because I called it a gift card instead of a fun card. He asked me which of the three options I wanted and so I said "the gift card please" and he said "the fun card?" and I was like "the gift card" and then he got all offended like and said "the fun card!" and I was like "yeah, suuuuuure, if that's what you call it, I don't work here." So if you ever go to Disneyland to get the gift card for your birthday, it's actually called the "fun" card. haha. We ended up not getting on any rides, we just got Dole Whip and pretzels. If you ask me though, that's a complete day at Disneyland. :]

After Disneyland I was able to take a short nap before my pals took me out for dinner. Michi came and picked me up at 7pm (she was on time because it's Michi) and then we went and picked up Ken (he was running late because it's Ken) and we went to the Ajisen to eat Ramen. Then Melody met us up later for dessert at 85 Deg Cel. This is probably the key thing that made my birthday complete. I love my pals so much and I'm happy that I was able to spend time and share my special day with them. Where we were going was a complete surprise to me and it truly showed that they know me and listen to me. Ajisen was really good the first time I went and I've been wanting to go back there, and they remembered, 85 Deg Cel is like my favorite place ever, and they remembered. My palsies are the best, this was my first birthday that I didn't spend anytime with my family, but they were able to fill that void.

I ended my birthday, the same way it began, with my MCIA fambam at practice. Perfect way to begin it and the perfect way to end it, surrounded by those that you love.

All day I recided texts, phone calls, facebook comments (maybe myspace ones too, i haven't checked yet), and in person greetings and "happy birthdays." This showed me that people really care about me if they're willing to take the time out of their day just to wish me a happy birthday. I appreciate every single person that is in my life because each one has contributed at least one thing to help make me the person I am after 19 years and I just hope that they will all stick around for many more.

My 19th birthday was awesome, it was legit, it was amazing, it was perfect.
